MB C @MB.Cinema Jul 30, 2026 Set in 1980s Ireland, it follows a couple returning from London to a lakeside village, where daily life unfolds through small, meaningful encounters. Director Pat Collins embraces stillness and subtlety, letting ordinary moments reveal deeper emotional truths. The ensemble cast delivers natural, deeply felt performances that bring the community vividly to life. While its slow pace and lack of clear narrative may test some viewers, its reflective tone rewards patience. A gentle, poignant film about belonging, time, and the quiet weight of everyday existence. Some will describe it as profound, in creating a sense of the smallness of individual human lives amidst the vastness of nature and the world, and focusing on the little ways in which we find purpose in our lives. Sadly despite all these things, I found it really dull, and would therefore struggle to recommend it unless you are prepared for a very calm and slow-paced afternoon in front of your television. See more Felix B @RT01128682 Jun 30, 2025 This is genuinely the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. A movie that is very bad typically still has entertainment value in that 'it's so bad it's good', entertainment can be derived from the obvious failings of a production. Movies I truly despise are ones that are just boring such as gladiator, my former least favourite movie before watching this. I went into this film with high hopes of a relaxing, yet entertaining adventure in the irsh countryside, as I imagine it was intended. Instead it turned out that there is virtually no plot, seeming intentional, but guess what there's a reason that most movies have plots. If you're going to try something experimental maybe do it well? The entire movie entails two people walking around and doing stuff, talking to random people. This is similar to many 'slice of life' films. The difference however is that they follow interesting, complex characters that are inherently entertaining to watch. This movie not only fails at this but at many points it just becomes a literal slideshow, showing some scenice picture for upwards of ten seconds, almost as if it's trying to pad the runtime or something. This movie is not good, I seriously rather look at a blank white screen or paint drying than this movie. See more Read all reviews
