Directed by Jason Bergh, The Greatest Love Story Never Told follows Jennifer Lopez as she attempts her most daring project yet: independently producing a new album and cinematic original that explore her twenty-year journey to self-love. Intimate and empowering, the documentary offers unflinching access to Jennifer's most personal moments as she works hard to reclaim her narrative through the making of This Is Me... Now. From interviews with her inner circle, including producing partners and longtime collaborators, to candid home moments, this is a vulnerable portrait of an icon who put it all on the line and discovered a newfound determination in self-acceptance and love.

B-

Satisfying as this documentary might be in the greater story of Lopez’s personal growth, it barely hangs together on its own.

By harnessing not just the drive that made Lopez a superstar but the fragility (especially personal) inherent in its maintenance, Jason Bergh’s film accomplishes something unexpected: offering audiences a truly new way to look at her.

The Greatest Love Story Never Told gives viewers a glance at JLo’s love life and showcases why the singer, dancer, and actress was born to be a performer.

This doc is really most effective as a companion piece to This Is Me…Now, Jennifer Lopez’s glittery meta movie/video experiment that puts her new music into motion.

The insight from this explainer infuses that rather odd earlier film, which Lopez self-financed, with new meaning.

I call bs tht this fiasco got 100% rotten tomatoes score or tht the audience gave it high praise. This was nothing more than an ego project for J Lo tht nobody wanted but her.

I would recommend this documentary to anybody who's feeling bad about themselves. By watching JLo someone who has no reason at all to feel bad about herself or insecure feel that way and have people in her career constantly telling her she can't do things, and watching her feel that way but push forward regardless you come away with a sense of assurance and defiance. Which honesty is something we should all have the ability to push forward regardless. When reading reviews on anything JLo related it's best to skip all the bad reviews because the woman has very dedicated haters who will hate something no matter how good it is simply because she's in it. Skip all the five star reviews because she also has a lot of stas. Go for the slightly more in the middle reviews.

She's not a talented person. She reaped what she sowed.

Painful to watch. Didn't realize bad acting could be relevant in a documentary.

Give her a break! This was not anywhere near the way Tik Tok made it out to be. Go JLO!
