I mean, one could argue that the original is what has fueled the Lifetime network for decades so it’s pretty much impossible for this to be anything new. It needs to rely solely on quality and skill to stay afloat and it does that to an acceptable level, with the exception beng the husband who just becomes a bigger dufus the longer the film progresses, while it adds a couple twists to the mix and some gore not often associated with these type of films. However, this woke remake is awful and the several bad reviews are correct. The story and the screenplay are terrible and unrealistic with non-likable characters. The acting is dreadful, maybe because the screenplay does not help the cast. If you want to spend time watching this flick, better off seeing the 1992 version again. My vote is two. This 2025 version falls flat and its focus on things that don’t matter way too much. They push integration with Miguel and the brown babies (Lthpigh they are adorable, but it is so silly and so cliche at this point for Hollywood) and then the nanny has a girlfriend texting her , so she’s a Lesbian!? How are we supposed to believe she is going to seduce the husband other than he’s not getting laid from the wife. It’s just a boring Hollywood remake of an original that is a million miles away from being a good movie. This remake had such great potential but Hollywood yet again fumbles .
