The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.

Critics Consensus

Despite ample charm and a few solid gags, The Lego Ninjago Movie suggests this franchise's formula isn't clicking like it used to.

Very silly, very funny and particularly recommended for fans of hokey chopsocky films and kittens.

Lego Ninjago, conversely, can't sustain its central joke over an overlong 101 minutes. Everything is not quite awesome.

Just as Toy Story did by featuring an owner of the toys, it reminds us that these films are about play and imagination. Yes, they're also effectively feature-length adverts for Lego, but this is rampant capitalism at its most arch and entertaining.

When I say this is my least favorite of the three Lego animated films, I don't mean that as an insult... In fact, The LEGO Ninjago Movie is still quite spirited, funny, and fully enjoyable.

it tries to be funny and it's silliness does make me chuckle a few times but the comedy is aimed at dare i say it, OLD PEOPLE from the 70's and 80's this kind of humor is out of its league in the modern world, also i know that they have to make humor for everyone so parents aren't bored out of their minds but i mean come on, throwing 80's humor for the parents and potty training humor for the young ones is too much humor. i already HATE the show like HATE but if you are going to make a movie i would have at least appreciated it if you had kept the show's original storylines and character developments, zane is now a personality less robot, master Wu is forgetful and old, he was already old but not forgetful, and Nya wasn't one of the stupid guys who kick ass she was the only smart person in the whole show, movie decided smart wasn't her thing, bad decision. also, Jackie Chan should not play master Wu, he already made stereotypes about Asians, and martial arts as a whole.

A horrible movie filled with bad writing and insufferable characters. A dreadful adaptation of the incredible animated show.
