Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 25, 2026 I’d give *The Leisure Seeker* a solid 5/10. It has a heartfelt premise and strong performances that occasionally shine through, especially in quieter, character-driven moments. There are glimpses of emotional depth and charm that hint at something really special underneath. That said, the film feels like it needed a bit more spark overall. The pacing drifts in places, and certain scenes don’t quite land with the impact they seem to aim for. It’s not a bad film by any means, just one that feels like it’s missing a stronger emotional or narrative push to elevate it beyond "fine." Still, there’s enough here to make it worth a watch if you’re in the mood for a reflective road-trip drama, even if it doesn’t fully hit its potential. Not claiming it’s any best of the best, but the story was nice, touching, brought laughs and smiles. The acting with the main characters was great, had me assuming opposite with the start of the film with one of the sides , but it all leveled out.. give it a try. See more David H @RT69491653 Nov 21, 2025 The actors are top-notch, but I think that the plot and the theme are flawed. Some of the interesting events just pop out of nowhere, with no earlier development. But in the end, the murder-suicide by the wife only suggests that she really had no care for him. I have cared for many older people in my day, and my experience is that just because a person is losing memory does not mean that they do not enjoy life, or that their life is worthless. Killing an innocent person who has no knowledge of what is happening, who actually trusts the killer, is a terrible act. The film seems to advocate that we kill off old people so that the next generation has no burdens, but still gets the inheritance. I suspect that a lot of people like this idea, because seniors are often discarded in the United States. Maybe some are even convinced that they are useless, that their lives have no purpose. Cruel and inhuman. See more J N @RT49966272 Apr 9, 2025 I admire their relationship, which lasted into old age. Some aspects were very touching, but the plot twists and simplistic resolutions left me feeling confused. In summary, I find this to be an intriguing road movie; however, the pacing of the plot is somewhat disorienting, and the ending took so fast by surprise. Fans of NOMADLAND and the Winnebago scenes in FRASIER should enjoy their picaresque misadventures throughout the American South in various states of consciousness. See more Georgan G @RT98616417 May 25, 2024 This movie was offensive in so many ways. The wife could not accept the husband's dementia so was cruel to him every time he couldn't remember something. She also did not keep an eye on him, so problems ensured from that. And the finale of murder-suicide is SO AGEIST! So, all infirm people should end it all? See more Read all reviews
