Though 'The Marked Woman' follows many of the usual conventions of the contemporary thriller, it is quite interesting how it finds its niche in the exploration of memory, identity and secrets...[Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

While this film could have benefitted from tighter editing, the tale, setting, and characters combine to create a compelling mystery. Go to Full Review

The Ripoll character’s arc is underdeveloped, as if the filmmakers sought to avoid cliches and ended up avoiding anything of interest. Go to Full Review

The Marked Woman becomes less interesting as the story unfolds, to the point that the revealed case, which is hardly original, becomes almost irrelevant to the viewer. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Robert T @Travis3297 5 days ago I’ll give it 3 out of 5. It’s ok entertainment but the acting is just not the best, and the script needs some attention. I don’t find it credible that the two officers would have the victim accompany them on their investigation. The male cop sidekick is insufferable as a character, if the character was written as an asshole the actor certainly achieved that. The female detective just isn’t smart enough to be a detective. The victim is a decent enough actress but her role isn’t credible - amnesia, cyber security expert martial artist with a sister who is a trafficker- not credible. Anyway it finally ends, just given the initial premise expected a better story stronger writing an md more believable characters. And all the cops are dirty of course! See more Judi T @RT22320509 Sep 9, 2026 The main actress was very good. But the agent was so annoying i had to turn it off. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Aug 31, 2026 The Marked Woman is a foreign film that I actually thought was pretty decent. I wasn’t completely invested in the screenplay at first, but I was interested enough to stay with it all the way through and understand what was happening. As the story progressed, the action and storyline became more developed, and I found myself getting more invested. I do think this is probably a one-time watch for me, but I was satisfied with what I got from it. The cast did a good job, and the performances helped keep the story focused and moving. I also appreciate how Netflix brings foreign films from different countries to a wider audience. It gives us an opportunity to experience different styles of storytelling and filmmaking that we might not otherwise see. Ultimately, The Marked Woman is a decent film that holds its own. It may not be something I rush to watch again, but it kept me invested enough to recommend checking it out on Netflix. See more Ricardo D @RT43154676 Jul 20, 2026 A good film that breaks away from the typical American movie mold. It features strong performances that feel authentically Brazilian. The plot is somewhat superficial, and the suspense is easily unraveled; in fact, the viewer is let in on the reveal quite early on, meaning we are essentially just watching the story play out to its conclusion. The film would have benefited from better direction and editing. See more William B @Wilberry Jul 10, 2026 Good movie. Good acting. Entertaining considering (or perhaps because) I hadn’t heard anything. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Jul 2, 2026 Underrated Thriler (12,543 – 01 Jul 2026) In Algeciras, a woman named Lucía accuses Det. Zárate of corruption and flees to Barcelona. When an unknown woman is found tied, tortured and with amnesia in a container from Algeciras, Det. Anna Ripoll, who is recovering from a trauma, is assigned by Sub inspector Morell to the case. The woman is attacked in the hospital and Anna protects her. Zárale asks his friend Falcó to be sent to Barcelona to work with the and she tries to interrogate the woman. Soon Anna learns that she is Lucia’s sister Clara and Zárate wants to know her whereabouts to clear his name. They team-up and face a network of human trafficking. "La desconocida", a.k.a "The Marked Woman" (2026) is an underrated Spanish thriller with a good story. The characters are well-developed and the mystery is gripping. The performances are excellent and Det. Anna Ripoll is a complex character. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): A Desconhecida" ("The Unknown Woman") See more Read all reviews
