Mike P @RT09890132 Sep 18, 2026 Solid 70s tv movie adaptation of the famous DC character; the first big female superhero; who's also, understandably, an important feminist icon. (She was featured on the cover of Ms. Magazine the same year this movie came out, as a symbol of Second Wave Feminism). The story's about an Amazon on a secret island that comes to America during WW2 to help the Allies beat the Nazis. Lynda Carter is an excellent embodiment of Wonder Woman; she absolutely looks the part; and both she and this movie got great reviews for introducing the character to pop culture back in 75. Today it's all a little dated and silly; grant you; but it also holds a special power for feminists and fans who truly love this character. It's no match for the blockbuster 2017 Patty Jenkins/Hollywood remake; but it works just fine on its own terms, and it's great nostalgia. See more Read all reviews
