The Souvenir Part II is undeniably the work of a talented director though this episode of the autobiography is less interesting than its predecessor.

This is a creative coming-of-age story – a portrait of the artist as a young woman discovering her own voice.

Joanna Hogg delivers an object lesson in how to deliver a follow-up: deeper, funnier, more imaginative than its predecessor, The Souvenir Part II is a filmmaker working at the peak of her powers.

Especially good if you've seen Part I! Not a film for everyone, but if you like film and the making of film, it's quite an interesting piece!

Not sure the meta surrealism at the end entirely worked for me but you have to give it credit for being audacious. Also maybe the most accurate movie I’ve ever seen about being in film school. Just really good overall and superior in most ways to the first part.

Not quite as bad as the first but this is solipsistic posho miserabilism that I refuse to believe anyone who isn't a hipster student inside zone 4 won't thoroughly despise.
