Critics Consensus

A likable cast and strong set pieces give There's Someone Inside Your House a lift, but they're outweighed by its messily misguided story.

All its failings could be semi-forgiven if There's Someone Inside Your House did the one thing that was promised on the box - be frightening. Go to Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian Oct 15, 2021

There's Someone Inside Your House is intermittently effective, but ultimately unremarkable, and it feels like a product of its time in disappointing ways. Go to Full Review Paul Lê Tales from the Paulside Jul 23, 2023

While it is easy to compare this to the admittedly more unique slashers before it, There’s Someone Inside Your House at the very least does everything on its own terms. It is not capitalizing on nostalgia or trapped in the past. Go to Full Review Nuha Hassan Hear Us Scream Jul 20, 2023
There’s Someone Inside Your House is not meant to be a parody of slasher films, but it does not have any entertaining elements. Go to Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Aug 17, 2022

It’s slasher formula 101 – introduce the killer’s fodder (most often a group of insufferable teens) and then slice them, carve them, chop them, and impale them one by one. That’s this movie in a nutshell. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Janet D @janetrd3873 Aug 12, 2026 Lame plot, obvious killer (the straight white male friend of the group) heavy handed “messaging” that what? All white people are privileged and deserve to die. Lame kills and not enough kills. Way too many survivors. Just a bad movie See more John B @RT06516232 Aug 2, 2026 Predictable woke messaging crammed into a forgettable slasher. See more Tina T @RT65385549 Jul 26, 2026 NOTHING LIKE THE BOOK. They changed so many pivotal scenes and butchered some of the most fundamental characters to the plot. Absolutely DO NOT recommend. See more Aun M @AunMohammad Jul 10, 2026 Most stupid time waisting movie ... title show Theres someone inside house... but all the movie made outside of the house that kind of bullshit we already have seen no new story... The visuals are fun and the story is tense, nothing groundbreaking but definitely a fun romp. If I were to compare it to another film I'd go for I Remember what You Did Last Summer. If you liked that, you'll like this. See more Read all reviews
