Just before their university campus goes quiet for the winter break, a young woman (Emily Blunt) asks a classmate (Ashton Holmes) for a lift home. The two students set off on their trip and begin to get to know each other. But, when a reckless motorist drives them off the road, they find themselves stranded in the snow on a remote highway. As the night grows colder, the two are confronted by a horde of menacing apparitions -- and struggle to escape with their lives.

Imagine a campfire story told by Jack London after downing a bottle of Jack Daniels. The chilly atmosphere would be in full force but the plotting might be a bit punch drunk.

awful. legitimately no redeeming qualities whatsoever, the only "okay" part is the acting from the main two actors who are trying their best with the terrible script. The plot is absolutely terrible and extrmely uninteresting, the scare factor is 0. Horrible horror movie.

Wind Chill is a modest but entertaining supernatural road thriller that works best when it focuses on cold, isolation and distrust. The premise is simple: a young woman shares a ride with a strange classmate, the trip goes wrong, and the snow-covered road becomes more threatening than expected. The film is uneven, and its supernatural side is not always as strong as its initial setup, but it has atmosphere, a few effective moments and a contained, austere approach to horror. Emily Blunt is the main reason to watch it: even in an early, modest role, she brings intelligence, vulnerability and strength to the film. It may not be memorable, but it is easy to watch, tense enough and good for a quiet, chilly horror night.

Synopsis
