When Michelle (Kimberly Elise) is only 12 years old, she is raped by Reggie (Clifton Powell), the boyfriend of her mother (Loretta Devine). When her mother does not believe her accusations, Michelle runs away and begins a downward spiral that includes drugs and prostitution, eventually landing in prison. There she hears of Bishop T.D. Jakes (playing himself), a preacher who works with women like her. Jakes takes an interest in Michelle's case and visits her.

Tatyanna G Jun 3 This movie succeeded in telling the story it wanted. However it felt emotionally unrewarding and completely deserted the viewer in this experience. I understand that this movie was showcasing the reality of survivors of sexual assault, which it does. What it fails to do is allow the main character to know peace which essentially makes it feel like trauma porn. See more 04/22/2018 The audience score says it all. Don't even pay attention to the critics, the audience knows what they are talking about with this film. "Woman Thou Art Loosed" is fresh in my book. This movie is about moving past those points and getting the healing and deliverance you need.
