Mercy (2026) 24% 5/10 EDIT “Takes a pass at mashing-up the 'screenlife' genre with a proper big-screen sci-fi/action blockbuster and comes up with 'What If Minority Report But Stupid?' as a result.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Primate (2025) 79% 8/10 EDIT “'College students trapped in a house on a hill with a rabid killer chimpanzee' in a brutally-violent horror flick that's exactly as good (or not good) as it's premise sounds, depending on your point of view.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Anaconda (2025) 48% 6/10 EDIT “Buoyed unexpectedly by a fresh-feeling 'Where was she keeping THIS??' bro-down comedy turn from Newton, who's never done a performance exactly like this but feels like she should've been doing it for years.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) 66% 8/10 EDIT “Hard to believe this fits together, but it does.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025) 16% 6/10 EDIT “Anyone seeking a straightforward scary-story will start wishing it would just get out of its own way and deliver the goods.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Zootopia 2 (2025) 91% 8/10 EDIT “Stretches animal puns and socially-aware allegories to fuzzy extremes in pursuit of its well-intentioned, mostly-earned 'Teamwork makes the dream work' payoff.” – Moviebob Central Jan 21, 2026 Full Review Shelby Oaks (2023) 55% 7/10 EDIT “Occasionally evokes an Ari Aster feature (but about people who work for a living.)” – Moviebob Central Nov 25, 2025 Full Review Wicked: For Good (2025) 66% 5/10 EDIT “The back half of a musical that infamously drops off in Act 2 becomes a sequel that's not as good as the first one. Who could have seen that coming?” – Moviebob Central Nov 19, 2025 Full Review The Running Man (2025) 62% 5/10 EDIT “Manages to make what felt boldly predictive in 1982 feel drably predictable for 2025; with an interesting cast stranded amid inconsistent characterizations and cultural commentary that's the opposite of cutting.” – Moviebob Central Nov 11, 2025 Full Review Predator: Badlands (2025) 86% 8/10 EDIT “Surprisingly, the elevator pitch of 'Predator Versus Everything-From-Alien-BUT-The-Alien This Time' turns out to NOT be too twee for it's own good and makes for a satisfying space-monster action-figure sandbox romp.” – Moviebob Central Nov 7, 2025 Full Review One Battle After Another (2025) 94% 9/10 EDIT “Crackles with topical energy and great performances, while also playing as left-of-center inversion of 'Taken' or 'Nobody' with DiCaprio's endearing "radical" aged into an authentically ordinary middle-aged burnout nonetheless called to Avenging Dad mode” – Moviebob Central Sep 26, 2025 Full Review Ne Zha II (2025) 91% 6/10 EDIT “Goes BIG on spectacle, less so on comprehension - wickedly funny little chaos gremlin protagonist keeps getting lost amid his own movie's compulsion toward video game fireworks (all of which look great, but less so when one isn't holding the controller.)” – Moviebob Central Aug 30, 2025 Full Review The Toxic Avenger (2023) 87% 8/10 EDIT “Gory, gross and possessed of authentic 'power to the people' punk rock spirit for the chronically beaten down that earns its grimy revolutionary edge precisely because it doesn't even TRY to care about precision in its shotgun-blast satirical rage.” – Moviebob Central Aug 29, 2025 Full Review Nobody 2 (2025) 76% 9/10 EDIT “I'm almost EMBARASSED by how much I loved this.” – Moviebob Central Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Superman (2025) 83% 10/10 EDIT “Feels like an era-defining moment for the genre and industry - like you're seeing Hollywood's future (or at least the next 20+ years of superhero features) being born: And that future is colorful, corny, achingly sincere and has BIG things on its mind.” – Moviebob Central Jul 9, 2025 Full Review How to Train Your Dragon (2025) 77% 7/10 EDIT “Actually pretty good, but can we stop doing this before we have to watch live-action 'Minions?'” – Moviebob Central Jun 10, 2025 Full Review Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) 80% 7/10 EDIT “Less engaging when straining for allegory about the threat of A.I., with Cruise's 'living manifestation of destiny' as analog movie stardom's John Henry flexing his jawline versus a wannabe Skynet that isn't half as scary as your average Twitter troll” – Moviebob Central May 16, 2025 Full Review Thunderbolts* (2025) 88% 8/10 EDIT “A Marvel riff on 'The Boys,' if it were written for adults instead of edgelord teenagers with oppositional defiant disorder” – Moviebob Central Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Sinners (2025) 97% 10/10 EDIT “An action/horror masterpiece that will rate among 2025's best films - see it before anyone tells you anything about it” – Moviebob Central Apr 22, 2025 Full Review A Minecraft Movie (2025) 48% 6/10 EDIT “'A Minecraft Movie' is a Minecraft movie, and I don't know what else it could be.” – Moviebob Central Apr 2, 2025 Full Review A Working Man (2025) 47% 6/10 EDIT “Statham is about the best in the business at this exact sort of role, but you've seen him do it better in a dozen other movies and it lacks Ayer's usual more imaginative flourish until too later in the game” – Moviebob Central Mar 27, 2025 Full Review Disney's Snow White (2025) 39% 7/10 EDIT “A slight but agreeable adaptation that in its best moments offers similar charms to a well-mounted theme park parade (or maybe 'Disney on Ice?')” – Moviebob Central Mar 19, 2025 Full Review The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (2024) 86% 10/10 EDIT “Feels like the movie [Looney Tunes] fans have been begging the studio for since at least the mid-90s. It's perfect. A must-see.” – Moviebob Central Mar 14, 2025 Full Review Captain America: Brave New World (2025) 46% 8/10 EDIT “Marvel goes back-to-basics with a lean, fast-paced throwback to Tom Clancy potboilers and its own 'Winter Soldier'/Phase 2 mode of solo-franchise "multiverse, what's that?" sequels, to largely satisfying results.” – Moviebob Central Feb 12, 2025 Full Review Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) 56% 6/10 EDIT “Please, PLEASE stop making entire sequels, prequels, remakes and reboots to 'address' things that only YouTube video essayists ever (sort-of) cared about a decade ago.” – Moviebob Central Feb 3, 2025 Full Review
