Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) 92% 5/5 EDIT “I love Wake Up Dead Man. It may not be the best of the three Benoit Blanc mysteries, but it is my favorite, and, unless something truly cinematically extraordinary happens in the next six weeks, it will tie with Sinners as my favorite film of the year.” – Reactor Nov 29, 2025 Full Review Predator: Badlands (2025) 86% 4/5 EDIT “I never expected a Predator movie to be a buddy comedy? But to be fair, I also never expected a Predator movie to become a touching found family narrative. Predator: Badlands is both; the world is full of wonders.” – Reactor Nov 19, 2025 Full Review Keeper (2025) 53% 3/5 EDIT “Keeper creates a fantastic atmosphere, but that atmosphere often slipped into vagueness that pushed me out of the story rather than pulling me in.” – Reactor Nov 19, 2025 Full Review Happyend (2024) 98% EDIT “"[Happyend is an] extremely confident, measured, and loving film. I walked in bracing myself for a grim dystopia, and came out with a head full of characters I’d walk into traffic for, and at least a tiny shred of hope for the future."” – Reactor Oct 10, 2025 Full Review Boys Go to Jupiter (2024) 93% EDIT “Boys Go To Jupiter is joyous and colorful, and made me miss a place I used to hate. The movie gets Florida right, but in a really nice way.” – Reactor Sep 19, 2025 Full Review The Green Knight (2021) 89% EDIT “This movie is a visual poem. It's the kind of thing that reminds me why I go to theaters, and why I love film.” – Reactor Dec 7, 2021 Full Review Knives Out (2019) 97% EDIT “Rian Johnson has taken the coziest, tropiest of genres and used it to tell a story about America-and he's made my favorite movie since Mad Max: Fury Road.” – Reactor Nov 29, 2019 Full Review Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus (2019) 100% EDIT “Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus doesn't quite give us a new twist, but by ignoring all the obvious nostalgia opportunities and focusing on a solid, ridiculous story, Jhonen Vasquez has given us a return to form that turns out to be incredibly fun.” – Reactor Nov 21, 2019 Full Review The Lighthouse (2019) 90% EDIT “I'm certainly not going to give anything away-I do not need a curse from Triton right now-but I think that if you like your horror weird and knotty and kinda psychological, this is going to be your favorite movie of the year.” – Reactor Nov 1, 2019 Full Review Constantine (2005) 46% EDIT “Constantine works by using Hellblazer as a jumping-off point...it creates a moody piece of modern, metaphysical noir.” – Reactor Jun 3, 2019 Full Review First Man (2018) 87% EDIT “This is the first space program movie that shows us something other than the usual space program flag-waving-we see civilians questioning the financial costs of the program.” – Reactor Jun 3, 2019 Full Review Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) 97% EDIT “...keep in mind that there is some real violence, swordfighting, wounds that bleed, and real, permanent loss. This is a film that sets out to confront death and change, and it doesn't blink.” – Reactor Jun 3, 2019 Full Review Pet Sematary (2019) 57% EDIT “If you've come to this movie you want to be scared and look at yucky things. This movie understands that, and will scare you and show you many yucky things.” – Reactor Jun 3, 2019 Full Review
