In the end, I was just left wondering what all the fuss was about.” – Kansas City Star Nov 25, 2003 Full Review The Parent Trap (1998) 87% 4/5 EDIT “A light-hearted Disney remake...Lohan makes an impressive debut.” – Kansas City Star Nov 25, 2003 Full Review The Missing (2003) 58% C EDIT “Missing a little something.” – Kansas City Star Nov 25, 2003 Full Review The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997) 38% 2/5 EDIT “Kind of funny...but not enough to recommend.” – Kansas City Star Nov 25, 2003 Full Review Elf (2003) 85% A- EDIT “Big laughs in an Elf-sized package.” – Kansas City Star Nov 25, 2003 Full Review Man of the House (1995) 13% 1/5 EDIT “Pretty weak little family comedy...doesn't hurt but doesn't help.” – Kansas City Star Sep 27, 2003 Full Review Thirteen (2003) 81% B- EDIT “Despite the flaws, it is worthy of recommendation for people interested in film, if for no other reason than Wood's performance.” – Kansas City Star Sep 27, 2003 Full Review Matchstick Men (2003) 82% B+ EDIT “The story's a bit on the traditional side (it could be pitched as "Catch Me If You Can" meets "Ocean's 11"), but the three leads make it an enticing and tense caper flick.” – Kansas City Star Sep 14, 2003 Full Review Batman (1989) 77% 4/5 EDIT “Good film...it kind of reeks of the '80s now, but it's still dark fun.” – Kansas City Star Sep 14, 2003 Full Review Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) 66% A- EDIT “Depp steals the movie with a swagger and a smile in his second great part of the year.” – Kansas City Star Sep 14, 2003 Full Review Velvet Goldmine (1998) 64% 3/5 EDIT “A bizarre thing, this trippy movie takes you on a whirlwind tour of Brit glam rock and doesn't let go. Graphic and unforgiving, but good.” – Kansas City Star Sep 5, 2003 Full Review Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003) 25% C+ EDIT “The film relies more on jump moments than gratuitous blood and guts for its scares, which is a welcome choice after such blood-drenched dreck as Freddy Vs. Jason.” – Kansas City Star Sep 5, 2003 Full Review Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003) 22% C EDIT “Your appreciation of the movie will hinge on your tolerance for the "quirky" antics of Spade.” – Kansas City Star Sep 4, 2003 Full Review 8 Mile (2002) 76% C+ EDIT “This Eminem melts in your hand and not in your mouth.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review Bowling for Columbine (2002) 95% B+ EDIT “Try and find this film, watch it and talk about it. The issues that it covers are ones that beg to be discussed, and this piece has only scratched the surface.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review The Lion King (1994) 92% 5/5 EDIT “A classic animated film. There's a reason it was the highest grossing animated flick until Finding Nemo came along...a marvel for all ages.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review Dear God (1996) 15% 3/5 EDIT “Cutesy comedy that makes good use of the Kinnear charm.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review The Professional (1994) 76% 3/5 EDIT “Good, if not overrated. Reno is always a delight and a young Portman adds a lot to the heart and soul of the film.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review Richie Rich (1994) 27% 3/5 EDIT “It was fun for what it was...which is not very much, but hey...kids will get a kick out of it for all the fun gadgets.” – Kansas City Star Aug 30, 2003 Full Review
