Predator: Badlands (2025) James Marsh Feels like a Disneyfication of the franchise, populated with cute characters and quirky sidekicks...another example of a Disney movie trying to exonerate its central villain

TRON: Ares (2025) James Marsh Incredibly air-headed, incredibly stupid, incredibly dumb and lacks the self-awareness that its central character is searching for.

London Calling (2025) James Marsh A loving throwback to the action comedies of the 1980s and 90s...that delivers the action, the banter and the bloodshed, with something more wholesome on the side.

Bandit (2022) James Marsh While perhaps not a classic of the heist genre, Bandit is a fun rollercoaster that comfortably holds its own

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) James Marsh The intention is all there, to address [Boseman’s death] and be respectful, but it goes overboard. The film spends far too much time mourning T’Challa and not enough exploring how moving forward impacts these characters.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) James Marsh “Like a direct response to Mendes’ 2017, the film is beautifully shot and slickly handled, without sanding down the rough edges, while the performances are incredibly authentic”

RRR (2022) James Marsh It’s an action movie, a romcom, a historical drama and it all works. There’s such an enthusiasm, a shameless bombast to the scale of this story…It’s so exhilarating, over-the-top and explosive…it’s mythic, elemental, larger-than-life…this is pure cinema.

Flee (2021) James Marsh I really appreciate how versatile it is in its craft. It works as an animated film just as well as it works as a documentary. It tells a compelling story in a really accessible and innovative way.

Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021) James Marsh Everything clicked. The performances are great, the music is excellent, I think its directed superbly and the editing is incredibly slick.

CODA (2021) James Marsh I love this movie, I really do. I had underestimated its potential. It's a big warm fuzzy hug of a movie - everyone should check it out.

Drive My Car (2021) James Marsh It's representative of a kind of storytelling that Hollywood shies away from, fearful that if we don't write it on the wall in blood or neon six feet high people wont get it...Regardless of what it wins, it should be championed.

Don't Look Up (2021) James Marsh I thought this was a brilliant film, the satire was on message. It's this kind of court jester-like satire that I really resonate with, and the cast was spectacular. (Steve)

The Matrix Resurrections (2021) James Marsh I was open to the idea of going back to The Matrix, but I don't feel it was adequately justified. It attempts to get out of the reality that their hand was forced it's just a cash grab by acknowledging it onscreen, but can't get away with it that easily.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) James Marsh It was a fun rollercoaster that really honoured the fans. People who've been part of this ride for a long time will get a lot out of this movie. (Steve)

The Power of the Dog (2021) James Marsh It's a tough watch at times, but not necessarily in the ways you think it's going to be. It challenges you, it defies your expectations, and it fights for empathy and compassion for difficult characters.

The Worst Person in the World (2021) James Marsh There's an adolescent, energetic exuberance to the whole story...it really resonated with me...Trier brings this youthful sense of freedom and joie de vivre to the movie...Renate Reinsve is a delight.
