4/5
Soundwave (2018) Bill Arceneaux Imagination most matured, this is. Resourceful, punch-packing, and straight-up fun.

3/5
Nemesis (2020) Bill Arceneaux Director Tim Earnheart did in under twenty minutes what SKYLINE failed to do in about ninety.

Cherzoso The Silent Film (2019) Bill Arceneaux Doesn't exactly do well in covering up its own inadequacies but does articulate some fascinating resonance in depicting the many voices that one body can carry.

4/5
Summer of 84 (2018) Bill Arceneaux Fun in the moment but all too ugly up close in memory. The 80s, am I right? It excelled at that.

5/5
Blindspotting (2018) Bill Arceneaux What Paul Haggis tried to do with CRASH, BLINDSPOTTING does, putting the Best Picture winner to shame while doing it.

5/5
24 Frames (2017) Bill Arceneaux Breathtaking and transfixing. There is a sadness to 24 FRAMES, but it's never a tragedy.

4/5
They Remain (2017) Bill Arceneaux Oblong and perhaps "above" traditional storytelling, but what it hammers home is the overwhelming chaos of our Universe. And it hammers that well.

1/5
Night Sweats (2019) Bill Arceneaux It reaches for our attention by aiming for the Moon itself, but is unable to propel off the ground as it's using sparklers for fuel. Decoration without anything to celebrate.

4/5
Champs (2015) Bill Arceneaux CHAMPS isn't satisfied with status quo fan-fiction that would've left every viewer with false feelings in their hearts - that, in this context, is an irresponsible copout. No, CHAMPS wants the big prize.

3/5
What We Started (2017) Bill Arceneaux It isn't punk or altogether terribly intriguing, but it is an entrance ramp to a world many have never visited.

3.5/5
Buck Run (2019) Bill Arceneaux BUCK RUN isn't completely satisfying or purely cathartic, but neither is life after loss. It's a question than an answer. A challenge than comfort.

3.5/5
Werewolf Ninja Philosopher (2018) Bill Arceneaux The hard to believe surprise of 2019 that I was looking for. Hard to believe that I could be so turned upside down by a film and that such a film could speak to my own weirdness so acutely. It's a rarity for sure.

3.5/5
Ophelia (2018) Bill Arceneaux With a score filled with whispers most haunting, OPHELIA has a richness in design, from top to bottom. Suffice to say, the craft on display is second to none, expressing the tragedy of what happened and more interestingly what could've been.
