Jim M @JEMooney Jan 9 This is a thoughtful and entertaining film that examines the widely accepted concept of "Stockholm Syndrome." It does so by looking at three separate cases of purported Stockholm Syndrome: the bungled robbery of a bank in Stockholm from which the syndrome get’s its name, the famous Patty Hearst kidnapping case, and a little-known hostage situation in Sevastopol, California. Based on interviews and input from the actual hostages, the movie will make you question whether Stockholm Syndrome is a valid explanation of the events that occurred. It is fast paced and compelling, effectively presenting events from decades ago. Bad Hostage combines the insight of a social science study with the appeal of a well-told story.
