Eye-opening, yes, but Ross never ventures much beyond the mega-crop's production phase and into the specifics of its wider sale and distribution, where things likely get even thornier -- and perhaps more interesting. Go to Full Review

05/15/2014 Very honest look at an industry that should be at the forefront of our economy. See more 02/23/2014 Cash Crop is a cool little documentary that travels around California looking at different growers and how and why they do what they do. We see Rastafarians, medical users and growers, and just about any type of grower you could think of. The film doesn't really do a whole lot when it comes to looking at the legality of marijuana, but pretty much every grower talks about this anyway. For people interested in the growing process of marijuana, then this is really cool movie. I liked all the different interviewees, or growers. Listening to them talk about organic vs. hydro, different strain yields, and other marijuana related topics was interesting. This is definitely a movie that has a small target audience though. If you're just a weed smoker and don't really care what goes into growing, then you won't like this. I can see a lot of people thinking it's boring, but like most documentaries, you have to really like the subject to like the movie.  See more 02/17/2014 I wasn't sure if I was watching a travel video or a documentary about marijuana. That said, they changed how my opinion on that famous herb. See more Read all reviews
