Susan H Nov 12 EXCELLENT performance by Russell Crowe! Overall a great movie covering such a sad topic. A must see See more 01/17/2012 "Nuremberg: It's Lessons for Today" was the US Government issued film about the Nuremberg trials of 1945 that saw such Nazi war criminals such as Goebbels and Speer stand in judgment for atrocities they committed during World War II. This film was shown in Germany in 1949 as a way for the German people to come to an understanding of what really occurred in World War II by their own government. Restored today by Sandra Schulberg, the daughter of original filmmaker, Stuart Schulberg, and narrated by Liev Schrieber (honestly, there was no way I could tell it was him) it was interesting to see this film from a historical perspective, but there really wasn't that much more that I didn't know. Seeing such men defend their actions and deny any knowledge of what was going on with the "greater picture" was almost amusing. Few apologized for their actions, but even the one's that did you could tell were only doing so to try to save their own necks (literally). Only 1 hr and 10 minutes long, it's an interesting movie for history buffs, and definitely something you could wait to see on video. See more Read all reviews
