The Workout (2025) Benjamin Gummery ...the plot mostly plods along as a fairly standard revenge story and serves mostly to set up a few action set pieces through the film.

Chasing Chasing Amy (2023) Benjamin Gummery What starts out as an insightful retrospective look at ‘Chasing Amy’ as a queer film turns into an incredibly moving story of the film-makers own journey with their identity and sexuality.

Pennywise: The Story of IT (2021) Benjamin Gummery ...a must-watch for fans of the mini series but also has a wider appeal for those interested in the ‘behind-the-scenes’ and process of TV & Film.

Doctor Who Am I (2022) Benjamin Gummery a small and intimate personal story with will surely have a much wider relatability for many viewers and is deftly brought to screen by Jacobs & Yuille and a subtle accompanying score from Mark Legett.

Love in Kilnerry (2019) Benjamin Gummery As charming as it is witty, Love In Kilnerry will make you fall in love with its kooky charecter filled world.

Clerks III (2022) Benjamin Gummery Smith brings us his most raw and emotional film to date whilst not forgetting his comedy roots. A must see for fans of the franchise.

1/5
The Munsters (2022) Benjamin Gummery The film falls completely flat tonally as Zombie takes a step back from his more edgier and gore filled roots and instead leans into the comic and Kooky. A poor attempt to reinvent a classic.

Orphan: First Kill (2022) Benjamin Gummery The film connects threats established in the previous film and has many easter eggs for viewers to pick up on without making it jarring for newcomers to the franchise[...] Finally a horror prequel that lives up to or even betters the original.

They/Them (2022) Benjamin Gummery The traditional slasher trope of being scared whilst watching a ‘kill scene’ is flipped in this film. The usual feeling of discomfort and dread is more present for the viewer during the ‘therapy’ scenes compared to the ‘kills’.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) Benjamin Gummery Cage's performance is actually quite well measured here as he manages to find levels, even playing his own alter-ego Nicky, he leans into his own stereotypes without it going into the completely absurd.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) Benjamin Gummery This is clearly not just Raimi directing a Marvel movie, this plays more like a Sam Raimi movie set in the Marvel Universe....The film is perhaps let down a little by the shorter runtime as we don't get to have much back story for the new characters

4/5
Stay Awake (2022) Benjamin Gummery The film is wonderfully acted by the small cast that need to portray a range of complex emotions and the ebb and flow of relationships between characters. The rural setting of the film works perfectly and becomes a charecter in and of itself...

3/5
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) Benjamin Gummery brutal kills and blood splattering from the off; perhaps a nod to the brutality and shock factor of Tobe Hoppers original film and whilst it is well shot and features some visually creative compositions it never quite lives up to that that legacy.

Scream (2022) Benjamin Gummery Scream is extremely self referential of it's own history and the wider horror universe. The film seamlessly adds 'Easter eggs' regarding unanswered plot points and call backs to the previous movies without alienating franchise newcomers. #ForWes

Halloween Kills (2021) Benjamin Gummery Leaving the cinema this evening I couldn't help but wonder if how I felt was the same way cinema goers felt when leaving Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers back in 1995 - confused, disappointed and wondering how the franchise will recover.

Parallel Love: The Story of a Band Called Luxury (2018) Benjamin Gummery Hinton shows a flair for the camera and despite being incredibly close to the story still manages to produce a relatively balanced account and perhaps he is perfectly placed to tell this somewhat unbelievable story.

Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One (2021) Benjamin Gummery Tim Sheridan's script whilst keeping mostly faithful to original does feel like a refreshing of the dialogue with some more current references and humour whilst still feeling fitting to the setting and atmosphere.

Another Gay Movie (2006) Benjamin Gummery Whilst the film is a perfect gay send-up of the super straight American Pie style comedies of the time, it perhaps doesn't age as well with the more enlightened LGBT-led films and series that have followed since.

Coming 2 America (2021) Benjamin Gummery It was always going to be a tall order to match the comic greatness of the original film; which is widely regarded as one of the best comedies of all time. This sequel never quite matches up to that greatness and the jokes don't land quite as hard.

The Last Blockbuster (2020) Benjamin Gummery e film-makers passion for the subject matter is clear in the making of this film which was clearly a labour of love; whilst at the same time they are able to poke fun and not take themselves or the subject matter too seriously

Peripheral (2018) Benjamin Gummery Building on the premise of a writer struggling to complete the followup to their debut novel it also acts as a meditation on the writers process, fame and the interference of technology and corporations on our lives.

Madness in the Method (2019) Benjamin Gummery The film somehow manages to fulfil its own legacy as we see Mewes take on an unexpected and scene stealing role and you could draw comparison to this recent trend in films challenging stereotypical casting such as Uncut Gems & Mandy.

Parkland Rising (2019) Benjamin Gummery Despite the sombre subject matter, the overall feeling is uplifting; this film is about positive action and moving forward; not dwelling on the past but not ignoring it either.
