Black Christmas (2019) Tim Stevens There's plenty to like about BLACK CHRISTMAS from a writing and performance perspective. The visuals, generally, work well. However, horror fans may find the movie lacking in teeth after the very well-done opening kill.

Knives Out (2019) Tim Stevens If you can't tell, I found KNIVES OUT just a great time at the movies. Despite the ideas being wrestled with here, they never make the film a slog. It is an impressive feat and one that should be seen as soon as possible.

Charlie's Angels (2019) Tim Stevens While not as breezy or as stylish as the early 2000's installments, this one is still fun. Moreover, it tends to wear its feminism with a little more comfort than previous incarnations.

It: Chapter Two (2019) Tim Stevens IT is not great, but it is good. The actors are strong, there are a couple of excellent Pennywise-child scenes that make the blood run cold. It is also irregularly paced and not every character gets their due. It is a mixed bag, but a recommended one.

Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood (2019) Tim Stevens The note of sweet sadness the film closes on is, well, sort of beautiful. I am not scholar of late 60s Hollywood, but there is still something undeniably heart-aching about the universe QT creates.

Men in Black: International (2019) Tim Stevens As I have said elsewhere, this is a decent movie. However, it does feel a little empty at its core. See it at 1:15 on a hot Sunday afternoon or on a Tuesday night when they have the five-dollar tickets. There's no need to race out to see it right away.

Late Night (2019) Tim Stevens LATE NIGHT does suffer from being more oriented around the less interesting of the two leads. However, LATE NIGHT still draws in the viewer. It is smart, it feels honest, and the actors' interactions are too good to miss.

Long Shot (2019) Tim Stevens Liz Hannah, (THE POST) and Dan Sterling, (THE INTERVIEW) do not seem like natural collaborators on paper. Nonetheless, they have combined on a rather smart and strongs cript. Of course, this being a romcom, chemistry is key. Theron and Rogen have it.

Little (2019) Tim Stevens LITTLE is not bad. Martin is simply too damn good as teen Jordan Sanders for that to be the case. However, no one, save Martin, gets much by way of development to play. It is a mild, affair that should have, given the players involved, been so much more.

Fighting With My Family (2019) Tim Stevens FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY is a very sweet movie with great performances top to bottom. However, you can feel how tightly managed this movie is. A cast this good deserved a movie that was not scared to throw a few more elbows.
