The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) Perri Nemiroff Another rock solid addition to the film franchise. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes loses some steam in the last chapter, but the first two are phenomenal, and the cast is on point. Tom Blyth excels playing a protagonist with a deteriorating moral compass.

The Exorcist: Believer (2023) Perri Nemiroff A rock solid first half -- character-driven, strong build of dread, and successful at conveying the sheer terror of watching a loved one, especially a child, slip away & feeling helpless in the fight to get them back. But then it becomes a forced sequel.

DogMan (2023) Perri Nemiroff Are some elements of the film bizarre & flawed? Yes! But with Caleb Landry Jones' work serving as a powerful heart for the film, one with a wildly charming dynamic with his canine costars, it’s hard not to be taken by this one, especially as a dog lover.

Dolittle (2020) Perri Nemiroff There's a lot wrong with Dolittle but one of the most shocking of the bunch is that Downey Jr.'s performance doesn't work at all. One might expect him to be well suited to play a lovable jerk, but there's no charm in his rendition of the character.

Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) Perri Nemiroff Zombieland: Double Tap is more of the same, but you know what? It's still super effective. As someone who fell hard for Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock back in 2009, the sequel was well worth the wait.

The Irishman (2019) Perri Nemiroff A highly ambitious crime epic from a dream team delivering standout work all around. De Niro, Pacino & Pesci are phenomenal as is the work of editor Thelma Schoonmaker who makes a story that spans decades and clocks in at a whopping 209 minutes seamless.

It: Chapter Two (2019) Perri Nemiroff IT Chapter Two isn't as refined as the first, but it's still an excellent ensemble piece, oozing with heart and packed with extremely well-crafted set pieces. Muschietti weaves the young and adult Losers together well, giving the sequel an epic feel.

Toy Story 4 (2019) Perri Nemiroff Toy Story 4 is exceptional on so many levels. Non-stop laughs, jaw-dropping animation, and an especially touching chapter of Woody's journey. If you want to walk out of a movie feeling hopeful about the endless possibilities out there, this one's a must.

Booksmart (2019) Perri Nemiroff An utter delight. Booksmart rocks an electric energy, non-stop laughs, and tons of heart. Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein are true gems and they're also backed by a great ensemble. Quite the feature directorial debut for Olivia Wilde.
